As a large, lateral space with perfect proportions it was crying out for someone with an eye for beauty to rescue it. I immediately saw the potential and the opportunities it offered to create a chic, contemporary space with a classic vibe.
I aimed to give each room its own unique mood, especially the reception spaces which I wanted to be glamorous, sophisticated and seductive. Some areas of the apartment receive very little natural light but I decided to turn the darkness to an advantage by making it inviting and warm. Carefully considered layers of textures and colour add personality and ambience while marble floors and bathrooms add classical overtones.
When it came to the furniture I combined mid 20th Century statement pieces with modern to create a timeless appeal. Art also plays a major role - the apartment is virtually a gallery; a large, carefully observed space, consciously designed to exhibit a contemporary art collection.
