London Townhouse

The previous renovation of this London townhouse had left it soulless and unwelcoming.

Already renovated by the previous owner, the house required no major structural changes but was cold and bland with characterless modern features such as a stainless steel staircase, aluminium window frames, no wall skirting or ceiling decoration.

My focus was, therefore, on the interior design - to make the space softer and more feminine but with style and comfort. My aim: to make it a little "jewel box" with a classic simplicity.

Silk and seagrass wall coverings in warm unusual tones were used throughout to bring it to life and create a canvas for stunning art and furniture. I used a bold mix of vintage and more contemporary pieces from Christian Liaigre to create a timeless quality and to surround the occupants with beautiful things that have a unique provenance and personality.
